Hulu: Stream TV shows & movies App Reviews

Ive had Hulu 2yrs & want to Cancel for Netflix! It is better & you can have 4 watchers at 1x! For some reason Hulu freezes & messes up the movies & you notice a lapse (3secs) where they take commercials out. If I go to my Sons & try to play it while Im there it flickers & freezes, etc. making viewing miserable unlike Netflix. Ill pay for better quality & more choices thank you.

Ive been a big fan of Hulu since they came out. But with all my favorite content no longer available (Viacom and CW deals not renewed) Im considering if I should pay the $12 a month... I loved their old queue and favorites which they replaced with Watchlist (didnt love but got used to). But now the experience on Apple TV is disjointed bc it doesnt even sync with my Watchlist which exists everywhere else (phone, iPad, desktop browser). Shows that I removed on my watchlist still show up in my stuff and shows i added dont. If youre going to update it at least have a unified experience across the board, at least between iOS and tvOS.

These commercials drive me insane

Some of the Hulu apps (like on the Apple TV) have updated to the new design and replaces the classic Watchlist with a My Stuff list. However my iPhone and the website still have the old layout. I have the latest version of the app. Things you add to My Stuff will not show up in the watchlist and vice versa. This makes it frustrating to browse and save things for later.

I Cant even download the app. I have enough storage and everything but cant seem to get it to download???

Worst UI/UX redesign of any app in recent memory. Navigation is now so confusing and convoluted that it basically doesnt work. Discovering new content is slow and not intuitive. I cant just browse like with Netflix or iTunes. I am holding my membership with the hope that Hulu developers wake up. I gave Hulu several months to improve this and they havent. Hopefully by the end of my hold they will notice that no one likes the redesign.

Love the service, hate the new app. Requires way too much movement to navigate, and in all 4 directions rather than simple swiping- precise navigation is not one of the AppleTV4 remotes strengths, and this app highlights it painfully. Previous app wasnt as pretty, but was *far* more functional, Id rather have that one back. Throw this one out and start over.

New update is awful. Keep buffering throughout the show. Apple TV is almost unbearable To watch. Netflix is working just fine.

I cant find what the issue other raters are having with this update. I easily find the show I want to watch and it plays without error. It does its job, works as it is supposed to.

This is why Netflix is better. Wyd Hulu? No one wants to see ads...why make us pay for it?

The shows are amazing, better than netflix, But the movies hulu has are mostly garbage. When watching shows Ive already watched it skips me to the end of the episode since thats where I left off last time, and rounds it down, so I when I rewatch a show it spoils the ending of every episode since my internet is bad in my room

We cant get anything to play it just says click and hold to add to episodes, but it wont actually let us watch anything and thats really annoying since we are paying $12 a month and now we can even watch anything. Horrible update

It really wont even work, and you can literally only watch clips. And those clips wont work either. Its pretty dysfunctional , wouldnt recommend.

I love the animes on here but, why are there so many ads?! There are about 5 minutes of ads on each episode and it gets really annoying because there are about 300 episode on my favorite anime. I think the ads are stupid because I wouldnt ever consider using any of these ads!! Please keep these ads down!!!!!

Update!!! Ive given it a month, but every time I use Hulus new gui, I just get frustrated and close it. Its just awful. Lowering to one star. May 12 The new gui is overly complicated. You have to go through layer after layer to find episodes, if you can find the show you want to watch.

This update is the absolute worst. Honestly so frustrating to use and nothing is clear. Go back to what it used to be!

Ive been a Hulu customer for many years. I LOVE their content and availability, but for heavens sake Hulu GET A BETTER TECH TEAM. This "great new upgrade" has been the most frustrating and frankly unattractive thing Ive dealt with in a while. I mainly use it on my Apple TV with voiceover because my husband is visually impaired and this most recent version of the app is not streamlined, very touchy and glitchy (it says youre on one thing, you select it, and it starts playing something else. I have to visually search to fix it. My husband gets so frustrated and feel inferior) and on top of it being kind of ugly, its just very difficult to see whats going on with how crowded it is. The old version crashed ALL the time but at least it had a fairly streamlined concept. Seriously disappointed Hulu :(

The AppleTV version of Hulu is completely non-functional. It wont even load any content. Since the app requires $7.99 per month to use, this is essentially fraud, charging a fee for content that the company refuses to provide access to. Apple should remove this app from the store until Hulu makes a functional app that delivers the content it charges for.

Hulu should have anime show in English instead of just English subtitles. I have only one anime show that is in both English dubbed and English subtitles. If an anime show starts out in English dubbed and English subtitles it should stay the same through out the show. For example Fairytale only has a few seasons with English dubbed and English subtitles.

I really dont like the new interface. You cant tell what youre scrolling to very easily. And my content that Im interested in is not front and center anymore, but the content Hulu wants me to watch is now front and center. The old interface wasnt much better either, but mostly better than this. Doesnt make sense they put new episodes at the bottom so you have to scroll all the way down the page. For shows like Larry King Live that have tons of episodes in one season, it is a bit of a pain, but I guess Apple did add fast-scrolling so its not as much of a problem as it used to be.
