Hulu: Stream TV shows & movies App Reviews

Fire the design team. This app has taken a simple concept and turned it into a click-a-thon to exit out of the app, To search for new shows, and review your list of updates quickly. My preferred method to exit hulu on my AppleTV 4th gen is to force quit the app and reload. I used to watch Hulu regularly, but now the UI is so horribly designed, I rarely use it. I use to enjoy exploring new shows, however the decision to make the choices text based was wrong. Bring back the images of the shows. If you want an easy to use app for video, use Netflix.

Whenever I add something to my watchlist, I go to my watchlist and theres nothing on it. It refuses to add anything to my watchlist. Also, when I go into lifestyle and culture tv shows or something, I click on one, and none of the episodes come up. Theres a play button on a blank picture, but when I click on it, nothing happens. Kind of thinking about ending my subscription because its a waste of money if I cant watch what I want to watch.

The newest Hulu release is baffling! Did these guys even user test this at all? You cannot (easily) see when NEW EPISODES are released! Pretty much the main feature of the service and major competitive advantage over Netflix is that they get a constant stream of the content you love from TV with 24 hours, and yet inexplicably they decided to obscure this information behind a wall of menus and undesired show recommendations. My fear is that Hulu read data about its users lack of browsing or show diversity and decided to force this new (crappy) user experience on us all because we simply werent "doing Hulu right" by only watching show sin our queue or something. Lame. I guess that theorys better than the "Cool colors is the new usable" theory for how this junk heap made it past alpha testing, though. At least greed is a viable motive. Having this bad update on all platforms (the TV version is WAY worse) is especially frustrating because: A) Hulu used to rock (the app and its interface, that is) B) the content is still good C) I updated to some fancy new Hulu version Anyway... Hulu... I got cable again. Thanks for sucking!

so ive been waiting for the new pretty little liars episode to come out and it said itll come out in 30 minutes, and it hasnt

Getting ready to cancel my subscription, I cant stream any show on any device. It just buffers non stop. Disappointing.

Im trying to watch shows and it keeps pausing. Its so annoying. I cant even get through a minute with out it pausing saying that theres no internet connection when there is. Please fix this asap

I have given the new update a while to grow on me and it has not. It was not a good change. The Apple TV app is especially bad. Not intuitive, harder to find things and seems to try and force its recommendations on you. Why is there no search option in the childs profile? That is a serious pain. Its easier to save single episodes to my favorites but harder to add the show. Who watches the same episode over and over?

Live tv as expensive as cable or Direct tv Now using apple tv 4th gen. Their new format is just horrible looks nice but useless to use with apple remote. Menu has useless stuff over crowded screen.

Honestly though Netflix was better but I was wrong pretty impressed on how organized & how many shows Hulu has

Recently the app has been saying "Something Is Wrong" and I have to delete and install the app 3-4 times to get it to work.

Its awful. So many clicks to do anything. Hulu lost all sense of function.

Its very hard to get to showtime content. It doesnt show up in the search results. There is no classification by genres. This app is becoming more and more useless as updates are released. This is true on both iPhone/iPad and tv.

I absolutely hate being sent to a screen incessantly to make up profiles. It should be a choice BUT NOT ONE FORCED upon me

The new Hulu experience on AppleTV is abysmal. A major step backwards from what used to be an easy app to what is now almost useless. Its impossible to find shows. The suggestions are useless and wrong. The ratings speak volumes. Please roll back to the previous experience while you hire a new UX team and app designers. #majorFail

UPDATE YOUR APP! It gets frustrating when the app just constantly crashes as youre watching a show. I paid the little extra dollars for the commercial free experience and now I feel like I would much prefer the commercials over the crash app experience!

I use the Hulu app separately through both Apple TV and Smart TVs. Apple TV: Since the recent update where the layout is completely different, it hasnt been user-friendly AT ALL. I cant rate to get better suggestions. I cant easily go back to what I had previously watched. The My Stuff section is a joke. The vertical scrolling through each and every item is so time consuming. I like having autoplay on for when Im binge watching shows, but hate how it automatically plays another show or movie after a series ends. There is no way to clean up the history so trying to explain to a significant other a family member that you werent in fact watching a movie about hookers is awkward af even if it only played the first few minutes which then throws on even more unwanted movies/shows in the already misguided lineup. Some of the things it automatically plays are disgustingly offensive. Just because I watched Dirty Grandpa does not mean Im interested in all movies involving narcissistic freebasing trash. Smart TV: The app is constantly shutting off my tv or pausing to queue and load in the middle of programs. Funny how it NEVER happens with ads. If to tell me that these things can be improved through logging in via the website, then that infuriates me. Its an app. And why do my settings only include the option to autoplay or not to autoplay?There are no other options that could potentially help make the experience more user-friendly. Please make it more user-friendly. SOON. I miss the old layout. Just because this one is pretty doesnt make it better. If youre hiring, Id love to fix this mess by getting back to the basics. Get a new team or try not forcing them to fix what inherently isnt broken.

The new format on the Apple TV app is terrible! The app itself has always been pretty good mostly, but the new format on the Apple TV makes me not want to use the app anymore. If it doesnt change back, Ill probably cancel my subscription and use a different streaming service.

Okay so I love this app because can easily access my shows the that I missed the night before. But...got on today to watch AOT and Handmaiden an all my shows were deleted off my watch list!! Like?! What the heck!! This app use to be great but lately its gone way down hill. This seriously needs to be fixed! Ugh now I cant even find AOT and its deleted all my progress on the Handmaiden series. Ugh! Just ugh!!!!?
