Hulu: Stream TV shows & movies App Reviews

The new Apple TV UI for Hulu is embarrassingly bad - I literally do not understand how a company with the resources of Hulu could put out something so terrible. All of the UX issues with it are also so obvious that anybody outside the company that tested it would have told them within 30 minutes of trying it out, so either Hulu didnt bother with any kind of usability testing or, more likely, they ignored that feedback and stuck with their plan because they only care about how pretty it looks and they think they know best. The designers of this app need to be fired, and the mangers who allowed form to be put so far ahead of function need to be fired too. Then hire somebody who actually understands that Hulus purpose is to enable me to easily find and watch content, NOT make pretty screenshots for the App Store.

Since the app updated, I can not find my favorite shows! My entire watch list is MISSING! When I search for shows and try to add them to my watchlist the app BOOTS ME OUT! Please fix the update or bring it back to what it was before! :(

I like Hulu but there is a few problems. First, some of the shows are so behind!! Almost all the shows I like to watch are not up to date at all. Like with one show I watch, on Hulu it only goes up to season four, even though there is actually a season ten out! The other thing is just that you took out spongebob and I used to watch that but now I cant. Please bring back spongebob! Otherwise Hulu is good.

Mark the date, this is the first service I am going to cancel because of a horrible design. The usability was over looked for what? A lame color feature?! So frustrating.

The user interface used to be decent - but changed to worst Ive ever seen. Its like an April fools joke now. Instead of underlines they now use overlines (?) and its not apparent anything selected on the screen due to dim highlighting. TV Show series are listed from first to last (making it hard to scroll down 40+ episodes for the latest SNL) and the UI is slow to respond on Apple TV 4. Really horrible job.

This is literally the worst UI/UX evolution I have EVER seen in my life. I am a long time Hulu user. Ive had Hulu+ pretty much since it came out and this is pushing me towards canceling my subscription. I just cant imagine what focus groups they put this through that said this new "modern" unusable pile of rubbish is acceptable. Whatever team designed this should be fired. Using the app on my Apple TV with the Apple TV remote is rage inducing. Just simple movement around the interface is horrendous and finding content has taken a serious turn for the worst. If they dont seriously update this design Im done with Hulu for the foreseeable future.

Im not sure what is going on at Hulu but they seem very determined to break their apps and make them a truly awful experience for their customers. The Apple TV update was bad enough but was still sorta usable although still way harder than it should be an nauseating in its design. The iPad version is just totally broken. Cant access anything. Cant see anything.

Hulu has become a nightmare to use. The Apple TV update may be the biggest disappointment of any major app ever. Great service, just fix there interface please.

Giving this a try coming from netflix is like night and day. Hulu fails at the basics-you almost have to jump through hoops just to watch your shows. Trying to stream is annoying b/c of the interface and bugs. I was looking forward to a few shows and more, but now Im just going to just finish watching those and move on.

Hey Hulu. This is really a 0 rating for your webpage. How about you dont FORCE me to use an awful app? Netflix has an app and a webpage that one could theoretically go to watch shows on when the app is glitchy, or in this case awful. Not only does the app constantly crash but I cant even go to Hulu.com and search what shows are offered. Youre kidding me. Try again.

ITS HORRIBLE!!! EVERYTIME I TRY TO WATCH MY SHOW THERE IS JUST A BLANK IT WONT LET ME WATCH ANYTHING 1. They took my fav show 2. They put 55 thousand ads even though Im on the no ad plan and 3. It wont let me watch anything. HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO ENJOY A SHOW WHEN YOU CAN NOT EVEN WATCH IT. If your at the end of this thank you for reading the whole thing.

I watch anime and I watch mostly English anime but I know some anime that is available in English but doesnt have the option to watch it in English. Hulu please fix or update all the anime that could be in English but isnt

What is supposed to be an exciting new update is actually an App deal breaker for me. The great strength of the app was the ability to check on new and popular episodes with ease. Now it hardly makes sense at all emphasizing categories i could care less about, like which network a show is on. This is an absolute UI failure and may make my subscription useless. Who picks up their iPad and wants to hunt for something to watch by only searching by genre (which are poorly arranged) or network. I want to watch what was on last night. I want to watch what is popular. I want to pick from my favorites. I want to channel surf. But I hate, absolutely hate, having to glean through poorly curated lists irrelevant to my tastes to find something to watch. Please Hulu. Make it stop.

App takes way too long to download. I can already see myself deleting it.

The user interface reminds me of the Zune. Its terrible on the Apple TV. Seriously Hulu if your reading this review you should take a few pages out of Netflixs book. Netflix isnt super intuitive either, but at least I can navigate the Apple TV app faster and find what Im looking for faster. Hulus Apple TV app is just plain terrible. Endless scrolling and you can only view 4 movies at a time? And navigating left and right you have to scroll all the way back up to the top just to access other catagories!? You e got to be kidding me! I will be canceling my 1 month free trial early and you will not see any money from me simply because you cant design a simple UI that works with the Apple TV. Terrible terrible. terrible.

This new update for Hulu on the AppleTV is absolute dog crap and is quite possibly the biggest mistake and lapse in judgement Apple or Hulu has ever had. (The app on other devices is still great by the way). This new design makes zero sense. The new list view is horrible, it never shows all my regular shows I watch, AND it always displays shows Ive never watched an episode of in my life on my list...WHAT IS THIS CRAP?! The amount of time my household has spent on Hulu has MASSIVELY declined since they debuted this "new Hulu". Browsing is impossible, because of the tabs and list format they chose instead of tiles like the old version (or like Netflix), and because its not actually behaving "intelligently". It used to suggest shows based on history, but the most garbage shows are being suggested to me. THIS IS NOT A GOOD UPDATE! Please, Apple or Hulu or whoever is in charge of app updates, listen to the reviews and put it back the way it was. Well probably end up going back to using the XBOX if this continues the way it is.

Your name it, it crashes on it. iPad, iPhone, SmartTV, PlayStation... Hulus developers are am embarrassment to their field. On some days, it will take 20+ times to try to watch am episode due to it crashing every 2 minutes. I cant believe that we actually pay for this kind of treatment. Complete crap.

Wouldnt even let me into the app. Kept telling me repeatedly "Something is wrong" and didnt fix a thing. Never even got into the app. Mistakes happen, I know they do, so they need to come out with another update to fix this issue.

I love Hulu! But I would like to see updates and new episodes to popular shows like keeping up with the Kardashians and duck dynasty!
