Comically bad app. I have to restart it several times a day. Within the past couple years, they released an update that literally wouldn’t play audio when you started watching something. From this it’s obvious that the company does *so little testing* that it doesn’t even make sure that the literal purpose of the app - watching moving images with sound like bleeps and bloops and talking - works properly. More recently, when you tell it to play something, you never know if it’ll actually play the thing or just open the video player waiting for you to press the play button. It’s 50-50. Shows consistently get a few seconds cut off before every commercial. (Then when you hit skip-back, it cuts the show off again AND makes you watch the ads again.) Lately it has started freezing sometimes at the end of an ad. It doesn’t tell the mobile OS that, mind you, so when you wake up with 2% of your battery remaining after playing something to fall asleep, it’s because Hulu froze and left the screen on all night. (Of course sometimes it kills the battery entirely - it’s not like it knows to stop at 2%. I sure hope you weren’t counting on your wake-up alarms to get to work on time.) The inability of this app to perform even the gross minimum functions required to stream video is mind-boggling.
